Hospital officials in Philadelphia exploded a theory that the young blonde whose nude body was found west of Boulder on April 8 might be Mrs. Marilyn Hudspeth Lancaster, 22, missing from Byers, Colo., since March 6.

The Associated Press said officials at Hahnemann hospital in Philadelphia reported that Mrs. Lancaster had an operation there in October of 1952. Dr. F. L. James, Boulder pathologist who performed an autopsy on the slain girl, said she had not had such surgery. The victim's only surgery was an appendectomy.

Even before the hospital report, Sheriff Arthur T. Everson discounted the Byers lead because the first description of Mrs. Lancaster did not tally with that of the murder victim. It was only in later reports that the description fit closely.

The check of the Philadelphia hospital was made after Arapaphoe County Undersheriff Tom McDaniels found records in Mrs. Lancaster's room indicating she had been in Hahnemann hospital for surgery. Leaving most of her belongings at Byers, Mrs. Lancaster, who worked in a grociery store, left March 6 for Amarillo, Tex., for what was supposed to be a brief visit.

Coroner George W. Howe said today that a Denver newspaper has received a contribution of $12 toward burial expense for the girl, and a Boulder woman offered to buy flowers for the funeral and grave. A pauper's burial is scheduled Thursday.
