April 20, 1954 Rocky Mountain News, Missing Woman of Byers Can't be Murder Victim
A telegram from Philadelphia Monday ruled out any possibility of a link between the Boulder Canon murder case and the disappearance of a 21-year-old Byers woman, investigators said.
Mrs. Marilyn Lancaster left her Byers home March 6, leaving behind her car, clothing, and a houseful of pets. Her description tallied closely with that of the still-unidentified girl whose nude, battered body was found April 8 in Boulder Canon.
However, officials at Philadelphia's Hahnmann Hospital informed Arapahoe County Under-sheriff Tom McDaniels an operation was performed there on Mrs. Lancaster on Oct. 25, 1952. The canon victim had not had such an operation, McDaniels said.
The search for Mrs. Lancaster is now centering in the Amarillo TX area.
