April 22, 1954 Boulder Daily Camera, Cost of Cemetery Lot Subscribed in Full Today
A suitable marker for the grave of the unfortunate girl whose body was found in Boulder caƱon is to be furnished by Victor J. Emmett of the Boulder Marble and Granite Works. He made this contribution today.
The entire cost of a private lot in Columbia cemetery has been paid for thru volunteer contributions of the following:
Circles A, B, C, E, F, G, H, I, J, K, L and Mary-Martha, of the Women's Society, Christian Service, of the Methodist church. Each donated $2.50.
Individuals making contributions were, three of $1 each, anonymously; Tom Barry, $2, Mr. and Mrs. Dick Steel, $10; Marcia K. and Carole L. Campbell, $2; Harry W. Green, $2; Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Scott, $2; Elden Moon, $2; Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Webber, $2; Mrs. Lucille Curry, $2; F. L. Tobin, $5; Mr. and Mrs. J. H. O'Brien, $2; Shortt-Spencer group, $2.80; Francis Gilmore, Patrolman Godfrey, Stephen Pospahala, J. M. Joyce, Charles Timberlake, Elmer Hartman, Leslie H. Richards, $1 each.
The donations total $94.80. After closing the collection, several additional offers were made. The persons and organizations making the offers were informed to use the money for some other purpose. One or perhaps more stated they would send flowers to the funeral.
Howe Mortuary, which gets $100 from the county for burials in such cases, provided a much more expensive casket than the county appropriation permits.
All three Boulder florists sent beautiful floral pieces to the funeral.
The services were conducted by Rev. Paul Fife, of the Sacred Heart church. Mrs. Margaret Hascall played organ selection.
